Vaginal Depletion Pack

The Vaginal Depletion Pack or suppository usually consists of:

Magnesium sulfate
Iron subsulfate

Hydrastis
Vitamin A

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Bitter orange essential oil

Thuja essential oil

In a natural base.

Vaginal depletion packs have been in use since the 1800s. Vaginal depletion packs work by the action of the substances within the packs, which draw fluid and infection out of the uterus. These therapeutic effects make vaginal depletion packs effective in the treatment of such conditions as cervical erosions, acute and chronic cervicitis, abnormal Papanicolaou smears and conditions of pelvic congestion. Vaginal depletion packs inhibit local bacterial growth, stimulate the body to slough off abnormal cervical cells, and promote lymphatic drainage.

Place 2 suppositories against the cervix followed by placement of a tampon and leave in place for 24 hours. Frequency of application may vary according to the condition being treated but every other day use is typical until the problem is resolved. It may be recommended for preventing a recurrence that you apply a vag pack once a week. It should not be used during menstruation. Pregnant women should consult a qualified health care practitioner before using this product.

Vaginal Depletion Pack can help with the following

Infections

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

The use of the vaginal depletion pack is recommended as an integral part of PID treatment, as it promotes the drainage of exudate from the involved tissues.

Uro-Genital

Cervical Dysplasia

The vaginal depletion pack (or vag pack or vag-pack) has a long history of effective use by naturopathic physicians in the treatment of cervical dysplasia. It is thought to work by promoting the sloughing of the superficial cervical cells, particularly those that are abnormal. It is effective in most cases of minor cervical dysplasia. These packs are available in vaginal suppository form and should be used weekly, or as directed by your doctor, until the Pap normalizes. For most patients, the vaginal depletion pack will accelerate the rate of normalization of the cervix.

Glossary

Magnesium

An essential mineral. The chief function of magnesium is to activate certain enzymes, especially those related to carbohydrate metabolism. Another role is to maintain the electrical potential across nerve and muscle membranes. It is essential for proper heartbeat and nerve transmission. Magnesium controls many cellular functions. It is involved in protein formation, DNA production and function and in the storage and release of energy in ATP. Magnesium is closely related to calcium and phosphorus in body function. The average adult body contains approximately one ounce of magnesium. It is the fifth mineral in abundance within the body--behind calcium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium. Although about 70 percent of the body's magnesium is contained in the teeth and bones, its most important functions are carried out by the remainder which is present in the cells of the soft tissues and in the fluid surrounding those cells.

Iron

An essential mineral. Prevents anemia: as a constituent of hemoglobin, transports oxygen throughout the body. Virtually all of the oxygen used by cells in the life process are brought to the cells by the hemoglobin of red blood cells. Iron is a small but most vital, component of the hemoglobin in 20,000 billion red blood cells, of which 115 million are formed every minute. Heme iron (from meat) is absorbed 10 times more readily than the ferrous or ferric form.

Vitamin A

A fat-soluble vitamin essential to one's health. Plays an important part in the growth and repair of body tissue, protects epithelial tissue, helps maintain the skin and is necessary for night vision. It is also necessary for normal growth and formation of bones and teeth. For Vitamin A only, 1mg translates to 833 IU.

Essential Oil

Volatile terpene derivative responsible for the odor or taste of a plant.

Acute

An illness or symptom of sudden onset, which generally has a short duration.

Chronic

Usually Chronic illness: Illness extending over a long period of time.

Lymph Glands

Located in the lymph vessels of the body, these glands trap foreign material and produce lymphocytes. These glands act as filters in the lymph system, and contain and form lymphocytes and permit lymphatic cells to destroy certain foreign agents.

Cervix

The lower part of the uterus that opens into the vagina.
