We have been reluctant to promote any multi-level marketed product. Yet this product, XXX (the manufacturer of XXX has requested that no health claims be made for their product, so the company name has been removed), has been around for a long time, and has a track record of being very effective in some cases, although expensive. There are lawsuits pending against the company that manufactures it, YYYYY (name of company), and against doctors who have used exagerated claims in promoting this product. The profit motive often underlies the enthusiasm seen about this product. Because it does seem to have a beneficial effect over a broad range of conditions, it is tempting to treat it as a panacea or "magic pill". Some doctors, and others have oversold the product, and tarnished the reputation of what appears to be a very good product.

Other companies who are attempting to manufacture and distribute this product are being sued for supposed patent violations. It remains to be seen how all this is going to wash out. One of the companies being sued says "bring it on", as there is no patent violation at all, and their product is so superior that it is hard to keep up with sales. Such products, like Glycomannan and Nutratose are sold without multilevel marketing. These products appear to more concentrated and less expensive than YYYYY's products and definitely worth a try.

The Greek word "glyco" means "sweet". So "glyconutrient" means "sweet nutrient", or a dietary nutrient composed of a sugar. Recent scientific research has shown that eight simple dietary sugars (monosaccharides), most of which are no longer found in abundance in the standard modern diet, are now known to form the very words of life at the cellular level. These sugars combine with proteins and fats to create glycoforms that coat the surface of virtually every cell in the body. Glycoforms function as cellular recognition molecules that communicate the messages a body needs to function in health. Glyconutrients are considered to be cell signal enhancers. Much more information, including the science behind the claims can be found at thissite.

It may be possible to make your own glyconutrient product at a greatly reduced price. Here is a link to one site with details on how to do this.

Glyconutrients can help with the following:

Allergy  Allergic Rhinitis / Hay Fever
Here's a sample testimony of someone who benefited from glyconutrient products.

"I had allergies from birth until 45 years old. I am now 53 and have not had to use medication for over 7 years. This absence of allergy symptoms occurred after starting the XXXXX* and YYYYY* products. It took about 2 years before I was free of all allergy symptoms."

Some benefit, and some don't.

Immunity

  Weakened Immune System
There are many testimonies available on the Internet regarding how glyconutrients products has seemed to improve their immune systems. People report that they get sick less frequently, and have more energy. While more study is needed, those who are looking for a solution to improve their health, might consider taking such a product to see if they are benefited.

  Chronic Fatigue / Fibromyalgia Syndrome
Testimonies such as this one support the recommendation of trying a glyconutrient product.

"I have CFS in addition to the allergies, and for that I rate them very highly - a 9 or so for effectiveness (one of the best, indeed one of the only products I have found that provide a noticeable increase in my stamina). In fact they work so well at boosting energy that I often find my sleep is affected if I take one at lunch, which is why I usually just take 1 at breakfast. But for allergies I'd have to say they've been a disappointment."

Mental

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD / ADHD)
Individuals have reported that the addition of a “gummy bear-like” food made with vine-ripened fruits and vegetables and certain sugars (that are now termed necessary sugars) improved the behavior of children with attention deficit disorder/hyperactive syndrome. Further study is needed, but a glyconutrient product is worth trying.

  Autism
Many parents have reported improved functioning in their autistic children when taking some of the glyconutrient containing products available on the market from companies such as ZZZZZZ*.

Nutrients

  Antioxidant Need/Oxidative Stress w/o Supplements
A published study in healthy adults examining the effects of increasing fruit and vegetable intake from the usual five to an experimental ten servings per day over two weeks showed a significant increase in serum ORACß-PE (indicators of oxidative protection) values up to approximately 13%. Over twice this increase, 37.4%, was found using 1.0 g (2 capsules) of XXXXX*. [An Open-Label Pilot Study of the Antioxidant Effect in Healthy People of XXXXX*]

Respiratory

  Asthma
Fourteen individuals with a clinical history of asthma reported improvement after following a program of dietary supplementation that included glyconutritionals, phytonutritionals, and a dioscorea complex. The subjects completed a retrospective questionnaire to assess the effect, if any, dietary supplementation had on their asthma. The subjects experienced a mean 86% reduction in the number of symptoms associated with asthma. They were also able to reduce by a mean of 72% the number of other medications they had been taking. This study demonstrated positive benefits in asthma patients who took these dietary supplements. [JANA Supplement No. 1 August 1997]
